Forensic Psychiatry

Forensic Psychiatry is a sub-specialty of psychiatry that works with the legal system. The work performed is for civil and criminal legal matters that might come before the courts. Dr. Kruszewski is a forensic specialist and has been involved in both civil and criminal court cases working for both plaintiff and defense. He has testified as an expert witness in a range of cases involving antipsychotic medications, antidepressant medications, analgesic medications (including opioids), and a range of psychiatric illnesses.

Several of the cases Dr. Kruszewski has testified in have been of note. In June 2007 Dr. Kruszewski was recognized as a "distinguished expert" by senior federal judge, the Honorable Jack B. Weinstein, United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York. The Honorable Patti B. Saris recognized Dr. Kruszewski as a psychiatric expert and he testified before her at the Federal Daubert hearings in US District Court of Massachusetts in May 2009. The Honorable Judge Rhonda E. Fischer has also accepted and affirmed expert testimony by Dr. Kruszewski in the Frye Hearings in District Court of the County of Nassau, New York State in Jan-May of 2009.
